I am Allison Garfinkel and I cannot wait to help support you along your breastfeeding journey!

Families are sometimes caught off guard with how challenging breastfeeding can be, especially in the early days following birth. Having an experienced lactation consultant by your side can make all the difference. That's where I come in!

In addition to breastfeeding my own three children for a combined total of seven years, I have almost 20 years experience working with breastfeeding families including those with even the most vulnerable infants requiring intensive care.

My approach is to meet with you, listen to your unique concerns, and together we will develop a plan that feels best for you and your family. My hope is that through our time together, your confidence will grow and you will achieve your desired breastfeeding goals.

When our baby arrived early at 30 weeks we felt so unprepared but Allison’s NICU specific class helped support us tremendously through the early weeks of pumping. She had lots of tips to help us save time and energy. When our baby finally came home from the NICU she was instrumental in helping us get him transitioned to breast and pointed out all the ways we could tell he was feeding effectively. I had an oversupply when we came home and she also helped me navigate that by gradually weaning from the pump. She helped us gain the confidence we needed to breastfeed our baby the way we had always envisioned!
Alicia,
Allison is attentive, knowledgeable, and caring. She made me feel comfortable right from the start during my prenatal appointment. I knew I wanted to combo feed from the beginning and I always felt supported throughout my feeding experience - never pressured to exclusively breastfeed. Allison answered all of my questions and helped me navigate challenges that arose in the early days of breastfeeding. I would not have been able to reach my feeding goals without her help.

Allison is a highly credentialed and knowledgeable, lactation consultant. I've been struggling with all kinds of postpartum issues, and I've seen several lactation consultants. Even though we've only met virtually, Allison really makes me feel at home with my body and my baby. She has exceptional listening skills, and when she doesn't know the answer to something, she doesn't just shrug her shoulders, and blow it off, she finds out what she needs to know from her community and her support network. While I am still in the process of working towards my breast-feeding, goals, Alison has given me the support, courage and self-confidence that I've been needing to carry on trying. It's a gift to have found someone who is willing to work by my side without judgement as I navigate the intricacies of a less-than-ideal start to my BF journey.

Allison helped me through the early weeks of my breastfeeding journey. We were challenged with latching, holding positions, and painful feedings. Allison's positive spirit and knowledge of all-things breastfeeding truly kept me going. We currently attend her breastfeeding support group and she continues to be an asset to me with new challenges that arise (and I love meeting other moms and having time to chat with them). I'm positive that I would not have met my goal of breastfeeding my baby if it was not for her and her group. Allison, I'll always be grateful for your help and comfort during one of the hardest times of my life! Thank you!
I am so grateful for Allison. She has been an incredible support on my breastfeeding journey. She is so knowledgeable, compassionate and reassuring. Meeting with her in the third trimester was essential for me to lay the foundation for my success after bringing my son home. As a first time mom, I didn't know anything. I couldn't be more thankful for meeting Allison and I continue to reach out if I have questions along the way. Make sure to connect with her so you can get on her schedule. It will be one of the best decisions you make!!
